CPT Cannon Marchand

Biography

Introduction

CPT Marchand attended ROTC at 体育菠菜大平台 from 2015 to 2019 and commissioned into the US Army Transportation Corps and serves in the Nebraska National Guard. He is qualified as a Transportation Officer (88A) and Logistics Officer (90A).

Military and Civilian Education

CPT Marchand earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History with a minor in military science from the University of Nebraska at Kearney while also graduating Summa Cum Laude. After graduating 体育菠菜大平台 CPT Marchand served as an analyst and Law Enforcement officer for the Federal Reserve System. While at the Federal Reserve he graduated from the FLETA accredited Federal Reserve Basic Law Enforcement Academy.

In the Army National Guard CPT Marchand is a graduate of Transportation Basic Officer Course (Fort Gregg-Adams), Logistics Captains Career Course (Fort Gregg-Adams), Basic Airborne Course (Fort Moore), and Hazardous Materials Certification Course (Camp Robinson).

Assignment Highlights

After commissioning in 2019 CPT Marchand’s first assignment was Transportation Platoon Leader in the 195th Forward Support Company (Special Operations) (Airborne). Follow on assignments included Maintenance Control Officer and Distribution platoon leader India Company (Airborne) 700th BSB, Executive Officer Alpha Company FSC 128th Engineer Battalion, and Ammunition Officer Support Operations Section 734th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. CPT Marchand’s most recent assignment is as an active guard reserve or AGR officer where he is the department chair and assistant professor of military science at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

CPT Marchand served on brief active orders in support of the 46th Presidential Inauguration, initial COVID-19 National Guard response, and Nebraska State Active Duty in support of law enforcement during 2020 nation-wide demonstrations.

CPT Marchand’s military awards and decorations include the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Nebraska National Guard Emergency Service Medal, District of Columbia Presidential Inauguration Support Ribbon, and the Basic Parachutist Badge.

Family and Background

CPT Marchand is native to Kearney and a 2015 graduate of Kearney High School. CPT Marchand is married to Melissa Davison who works as a family practice physician. Together they have a four-year-old daughter Eleanor and an eleven-month-old son Roy.
